A remodel 50 years in the making! A whole-home remodel for the modern era while maintaining the classic colonial architecture. Opening the floor plan, maximizing storage, and integrating outdoor living are key components of the finished home.
The owners have lived in the 1969 colonial for 16 years and are the third owners. While they adored their location and private setting, they didn’t adore the chopped up spaces, minimal storage, and multiple interior surfaces with an overgrown yard full of chainlink fencing.
Over the years, projects were completed in phases starting with the landscaping and exterior. Massive amounts of chainlink fencing and overgrown landscapes were removed. New siding, paint, roof, a cleaned and sealed crawlspace (complete with earthquake strapping), and new windows started it off.
Addressing the interior, the main floor had three different floorings. Walls were opened and flooring replaced with white oak hardwoods to unify the spaces. New millwork and paint followed. The kitchen was updated with custom cabinetry, large island, and energy efficient appliances making the space feel light and bright.
The entire outdoor space was then cleaned up. Paver driveway, walkway, and patio back yard spaces (including a gas fire pit and sitting wall) truly allow this family to enjoy every beautiful Oregon day. New landscaping gives year round beauty incorporating the nature park setting. An outdoor cooking area tops off the patio and allows the clients to entertain using over 180 degrees of their lot space.
To finish it all off, the two full bathrooms were remodeled with tile flooring, slab surfaces and beautiful glass. The master bathroom now includes heated floors and a spacious and bright curb-less walk in shower. The hall bath is complete with a massive soaking tub.
For the inner workings of the home, all plumbing, electrical, natural gas and HVAC have been replaced to be energy-efficient, healthy, and worry free. An in-wall vacuum system was added for ease and convenience, as well.
The owners are proud to honor the 50th anniversary of this home with this remodel and Tour celebration!
